Wolves, c’est un duo de voix contrastées porté par Véronique Jacquemein au chant et Grażyna Bienkowski au chant, piano et violoncelle. Deux femmes que la vie, avec ses forces et ses fragilités, inspire à l’ombre de la symbolique des louves empreintes de liberté. Wolves c’est comme une fusion entre un héritage americana et une certaine culture scandinave du songwriting ; un univers rappelant ça et là Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Agnès Obel, Randy Newman ou encore Thomas Dybdhal dans lequel le piano sert de colonne vertébrale à un répertoire fort et singulier. Une voix lead aux accents folk (Véronique Jacquemein), colorée par une seconde voix contrastée (Grażyna Bienkowski), distillent dans chaque chanson, dans chacun de ces « produits d’amour », un condensé de vécu, de moments, de traces de vie de femmes et d’hommages tant personnels qu’universels. Et si l’Amour sous ses diverses formes, qu’il soit positif ou négatif, est bien le principal fil conducteur thématique des textes anglais de l’album, on y retrouve également un hommage à Jeff Buckley (Wolf’s River) et des échos à l’actualité (Slow City, Woman). Pour enregistrer cet album, Wolves s’est entouré notamment du batteur jazz Stephan Pougin et d’Emmanuel Delcourt aux guitares et basse (Roscoe, My Little Cheap Dictaphone, Blanche,...). Intemporel, authentique…Wolves touche au plus profond de soi, pour le meilleur de la musique. Paroles de louves… !

Wolves is a duo of contrasting voices lead by Véronique Jacquemein in vocals and Grażyna Bienkowski in vocals, piano and cello.Two women whose lives symbolically represent that of the unleashed wolves, in all their strengths and weaknesses. Wolves is a fusion between an American heritage and a hint of Scandinavian influence in songwriting; a universe which brings to mind Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Agnès Obel, Randy Newman or Thomas Dybdhal, in which the piano becomes the backbone of a solid and singular repertoire. Wolves - composed of Véronique, the “folk lead vocalist”, highlighted by Grażyna’s contrasting second voice, and an enchanting piano, all at the same time sober, graceful, subdued - infuse in each song, in each of these “products of love”, glimpses of experiences, moments, traces of lives of women as well as intimate and universal tributes. If Love in all its forms, whether positive or negative, is the common thread of the themes of the English lyrics of the album, one can also unearth homage to Jeff Buckley (Wolf’s River) and some echoes to current themes (Slow City, Woman). For the recording of the album, Wolves found refuge in the Belgian label homerecords.be. Guided by Floon (Michel Van Achter and Erno le Mentholé) for the production, they surrounded themselves with the jazz drummer Stephan Pougin (Steve Houben, Pirly Zustrassen, Jacques Pirotton,…) and the guitarist and bassist Emmanuel Delcourt (Roscoe, My Little Cheap Dictaphone, Blanche, …). Timeless, genuine… Wolves touches one’s deepest core. A music that will bring you over the moon…!

Wolves, is een duo dat gevormd wordt door de contrasterende stemmen van Véronique Jacquemein en Grazyna Bienkowski die daarnaast ook nog piano en cello speelt. Twee vrouwen, geïnspireerd door het leven, met haar sterke en zwakke kanten. Twee vrouwen die zich wagen in de schaduw van de symboliek der vrijheidslievende wolvinnen. Wolves is als een fusie tussen Americana en een Scandinavische cultuur van songwriting ; Een heelal dat herinnert aan Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Agnès Obel, Randy Newman of Thomas Dybdhal bij wie de piano de ruggegraat vormt van een eigenaardig maar sterk repertoire. De lead-voice, met Folk accenten van Véronique Jacquemein wordt ingekleurd door de contrasterende tweede stem van Grażyna Bienkowski. Het duo distilleert in elke song, in elk van deze “liefdesbabies” een concentratie van ervaringen, van momenten, een sluier van het leven van de vrouw en hun hommages…., persoonlijk zowel als universeel. « Products of Love », een melange van ervaringen, vrouwelijke levenswijsheden, persoonlijke en universele hommages. Ondanks dat Liefde als een rode draad door het album loopt en het hoofdthema, in zowel “Happy” als “Sad” vormt is er ook ruimte voor een hommage aan Jeff Buckley (Wolf’s River) en aandacht voor de roep van de actualiteit (Slow City, Woman). Om dit album te realiseren deed Wolves een beroep op jazzdrummer Stephan Pougin en gitarist en bassist Emmanuel Delcourt (Roscoe, My Little Cheap Dictaphone, Blanche,…..) Tijdloos, authentiek….. Wolves haalt het diepste uit zich boven voor de mooiste muziek ! Met teksten als wolvengehuil!
