Mr Diagonal's Midlife Crisis est une célébration de la crise de la quarantaine : ses remises en questions, ses sautes d'humeurs, ses crises nostalgiques, sexuelles et existentielles. Le tout mis en pop music avec le célèbre flegme British dans la grande tradition de Noel Coward/ Paul McCartney/ Monty Python/ Divine Comedy. Sur ce nouvel opus Mr Diagonal s'entoure de deux complices du Black Light orchestra: Yannick Dupont (batterie & percussion) et Quentin Manfroy (basse); avec comme invités Benjamin Clément (guitare et pédale steel), Philippe Tasquin (arrangements vocales) et Annemie Osborne (choeurs). Le mixage belgo-delique est réalisé par Gil Mortio. Ce nouvel album est une parenthèse dans la discographie du Black Light Orchestra pour mettre en lumière quelques facettes insoupçonnées de l'âme torturée de mr Diagonal.

Mr Diagonal Midlife Crisis is a celebration of the 40-year itch: its doubts and delusions, mood-swings, sexual and existential crises. All set to groovy pop-music and delivered with the British stiff upper lip in the tradition of Noel Coward, Jake Thackray and Divine Comedy. On this new opus mr Diagonal is joined by 2 accomplices from Black Light Orchestra: Yannick Dupont (drums & percussion) and Quentin Manfroy (electric bass); with special guests Benjamin Clement (guitar and pedal steel), Philippe Tasquin (vocal arrangements) and Anemie Osborne (backing vocals). Mr Diagonal sings and plays guitar, piano and vintage keyboards. The Belgo-delic production is by Gil Mortio. This new album, with a pronounced retro flavour, is a parenthesis in the discography of the Black Light Orchestra to highlight some of the hidden facettes of mr Diagonal's tortured soul.

Mr Diagonal Midlife Crisis is een ode aan het gekriebel van de 40 jaar (???de kaap van de 40): de bijhorende twijfels en ontgoochelingen, humeurwisselingen, sexuele en existentiële crisissen. Allemaal op pop groovy-pop muziek gezet en gebracht met de stijve britse bovenlip in de traditie van Noël Coward, Jake Thackray en Divine Comedy. Op dit werk wordt M Diagonal bijgestaan door 2 kompanen van het Black Light Orchestra: YD (drums, percussie) en Qm (basgitaar); met speciale gasten BC (gitaar en pedal steel), P T (vocale arrangementen) en AO (backing vocals). MD zingt, speelt gitaar, paino en vintage keyboards. De Belgo-delische productie komt van Gil Mortio. Dit nieuw album, met een uitgesproken retro-smaak, is een “parenthèse” in de discographie van het Black Light Orchestra om enkele verborgen facetten van Mr Diagonal’s getormenteerde ziel te belichten.
