Olla Vogala vous plonge dans son fascinant imaginaire de musique, de parole et de son. Un raffinement pour les amateurs de classique, de folk, de jazz et de musique du monde ! L’ensemble crée, à partir du traditionnel, une musique innovatrice. Diverses impressions captivantes s’entrelacent pour former ce style qui caractérise Olla Vogala : la chanson française, des chansons contre la guerre, des chansons qui parlent d’amour (im)possible, des compositions instrumentales influencées par la tradition musicale arabe… Les textes sont tantôt signés Ludo Vandeau, tantôt empruntés à la tradition syrienne ou encore à la poésie de Geert Cyriel Tavernier… Ce projet rassemble la formation originelle d’Olla Vogala accompagnée vocalement par Soetkin Baptist, Elly Aerden et Ludo Vandeau. C’est aussi l’exquise occasion d’une collaboration avec le musicien syrien Elias Bachura. L’album a été enregistré en live lors d’un concert, le 22 juin 2012, à l’abbaye Saint-Bavon de Gand. La sortie de cet album marque le début d’une tournée de concerts.

Olla Vogala depicts music, word and sound in a fascinating way. A delicacy for all who enjoy classical music, folk, jazz and world music! Several captivating stories and impressions are blended together into the style for which Olla Vogala is internationally praised. Chanson, anti-war songs, instrumental compositions influenced by traditional Arabic music and songs about the possibility/inability of love. The lyrics are written by Ludo Vandeau, taken from old Syrian text or derived from the poetry of Geert Cyriel Tavernier. This project reunites the original line-up of Olla Vogala, vocally supported by Soetkin Baptist, Elly Aerden & Ludo Vandeau, and provided an excellent opportunity to work with Syrian musician Elias Bachura. The music has been recorded live during a concert on June 22 2012 at the historical Sint-Baafs Abby in Ghent (Belgium). Olla Vogala has once again created music which is innovative in its genre. The release of the new album is accompanied by a concert tour.

De teksten zijn van de hand van Ludo Vandeau, oude teksten uit Syrië of teksten ontleend aan de poëzie van Geert Cyriel Tavernier. Dit project brengt de oorspronkelijke bezetting van Olla Vogala terug samen, vocaal bijgestaan door Soetkin Baptist, Elly Aerden & Ludo Vandeau. Tevens de uitgelezen gelegenheid om samen te werken met de Syrische muzikant Elias Bachura. De muziek is live opgenomen tijdens een concert op 22 juni 2012 in de Sint-Baafsabdij te Gent. De uitgave van dit album betekent de start van de concerttournee.
