Within a personal approach, the 13 songs recount the artistic universe of Photis Ionatos from the beginning of his career.
New compositions take part of this new album: 6 songs are based on writings of the Greek poet Aki Roukas, which are in great harmony and perfectly matching with the current esthetical criteria of the composer. The 8 other songs have already been recorded but took place in this “journey” because their poetical value remains undamaged and many aspects are justifying their presence: not only the timelessness of the words, the artist interpretation and the updating of the songs, but also the contribution and quality of the musicians who collaborate with all their talent and who succeed to breathe life into it and to give those songs a new existence.
This album summarizes and finalizes a poetical and musical cycle which has always been at the hearth of Photis Ionatos’s artistic creation, which means in other words, to reach Ithaque, as slowest as possible, as a modern Ulysses, since the reason, the explanation and the real aim of the “journey” is by definition and without any doubt, the travel himself.
