AGENDA
Confirmed dates for GFVP in 2025.

The Ghent Folk Violin Project, or GFVP for short, is making its return. Sometimes, getting back on stage together is simply inevitable.
The four ‘swinging’ folk violins, accompanied by a rhythmic guitar, create their signature sound. The violins blend into a beautifully tight, almost vibrato-free harmony. With the support of the guitar, the result is an incredibly diverse mix of folk, classical, world music, and jazz.
Composer and conductor Wouter Vandenabeele embraces young talent, each with their own distinctive style. Lotte Remmen brings an elegant classical touch, Anouk Sanczuk leans towards bold jazz, and Naomi Vercauteren flirts with subtle folk swing. They are acoustically supported by guitarist Jeroen Knapen. GFVP represents European traditional music with surprising crossovers, inspired in part by the avant-garde compositions of John Zorn and the provocative minimalism of Philip Glass.
In the spring of 2025, GFVP will release their new album OGOPOGO, named after a mythical creature from Canada. Just like the legend it draws from, the music blends traditions and stories full of surprises, where truth is less important than the continuous evolution of the myth. With this album, GFVP builds on a rich and imaginative tradition.
