Oud magician Tristan Driessens writes mesmerizing melodies in which all his influences flow together to create an atmosphere of complete boundlessness.
(Bazar Magazin).
With the creation of their folk group La Compagnie d’Elias in 2010, Tristan Driessens & Robbe Kieckens demonstrated how beautifully oriental instruments blend with
European music. They then shifted their gaze to the East with projects like Lâmekân Ensemble and Soolmaan Quartet, which they performed far beyond European
borders. For their first album together, Tristan Driessens & Robbe Kieckens decided to return to the source. Melody and rhythm merge to create an ode to timeless
simplicity and contemplation, in a style where East and West effortlessly flow together. The compositions written by Tristan Driessens "conjure up images of poetic
arabesques in the mind of the listener" (Le Soir).
