Annelies Heyvaert is born on the 7th of July 1988 and started her music career at the age of 10 at the Academy of music, drama and dance August De Boeck in Opwijk.
In 2011 she graduated with honors for flute by Myriam Graulus at the Conservatory of Ghent for the education ‘Performing musician - Specialization of Classical Music’.
In 2012 she got her teachers diploma at the Conservatory in Brussels.

She followed different Masterclasses with Wissam Boustany, Andrew Nicholson, Samuel Coles, Giuot Bouduin, Gaby Pas Van Riet, Toon Fret, Carlos Bruneel…
In 2010 she was one of the finalists at the Benelux Flute concours in the category ‘Masters’. She also followed orchestra management with Dirk Brossé. In 2012 she travelled to Mexico with the Warped Time Ensemble to perform in the context of contemporary music.

As mother of 3 children she tries to combine her life as a music teacher and performing musician.
She plays in different types of ensembles like Duo D’aujourd’hui (flute & guitar - Chamber music from the 20th century), The Advent of March (Post progressive rockopera) and other occasional projects. She is a spontaneous and driven musician, with a big love for music and wants everybody to enjoy listening and making music.
